Awesome! It Didn't Take Two Years!
July 26th, 2010

...In fact, it only took sixteen days from the date of purchase and about 83 hours!

Since its release earlier this month, about the only damn game I've played has been Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 Portable on my PSP. About 30 or so battery recharges later and it's finally complete (well, it was complete as of 3:11am Sunday morning if we're gonna get nitpicky). As you've probably already deduced, that link up there contains my thoughts on a game I've willingly bought three times and talked about quite a bit around here.

Feel free to read it if you want! Nobody's forcing you though!

Also, you Megami Tensei fans out there who keep writing me and telling me I know nothing about the series (mostly because I liked P4 so much and something about Persona not being SMT...I don't really give a crap...), keep 'em coming. I are continue two be amoosed.

A Six-Month Journey Ends Today
July 20th, 2010

Hard to believe that they started this thing six months ago (we started posting it in February, but it was started around January 11th). It hasn't even felt that long, but the numbers don't lie. So, everyone join in a round of applause for Fat Kakashi and decoy octopus as they finally put the cap on their Tag-Team Secret of Mana Let's Play.

It's been one hell of a ride. One long-ass crazy journey full of laughs, victory, defeat, bugs, crashes, and feeding decoy to Spiky Tigers. Who knows how many hours were truly invested in making this thing happen beyond the game timer and video editing time? I'd say it was worth every second though. A big thanks to both for letting us post it here.

Hope you've enjoyed it!

A Smorgasbord of Mana
July 11th, 2010

Holy shit do we have a motherfuckin' smorgasbord of Mana for all you Fat Kakashi and decoy octopus fans today. I'm not even gonna bother introducing it, I'm just gonna link to the FIVE HOT NEW EPISODES and let you be on your merry way.

Do note that there was a recording issue with Episode 25 and there's nothing I can do about it, but everything continues fine through 26 on.

So there ya go! You got lots to check out, so you go and enjoy that.

PixelJunkan! Shootan! Castan!
July 7th, 2010

Another July 7th, another HAPPY RENA DAY! Put on your prettiest white dress and polish up your favorite cleaver and visit a junkyard today! You'll be happy (and about two times as smelly) you did! On the way home stop by the local convenience store and grab a nice six-pack of U-Soda while you're at it.

Now, I'm pretty sure there are better ways to celebrate Rena Day other than a game review, but fuck if I can be arsed to bother with any. That's just how we do things around here. It's for that reason today that I've that I've decided to share my thoughts on the PSN-Exclusive PixelJunk Shooter. A fun little shooty/puzzler from the folks over at Q-Games released last year and clearly the perfect way for me to get my money's worth out of that PS3 purchase. Head on over and give it a look.

I'd also like to take a moment to plug a podcast I've been listening to for the last few months. The Out-Cast: A Japanese Gaming Podcast is a....Japanese gaming podcast covering the Japanese gaming industry and various other fun tidbits of Japanese Culture. The Out-Cast is hosted by four English-speaking doods living in Japan and the shows are as engaging as they are entertaining. These guys know their stuff and their passion for the things they talk about really shines through. So, everybody go give em a listen if you find yourself interested in the subject matter. I'll be adding a link banner to the Links page sometime later this week/weekend as well.

Got a few cans of U-Soda to chug down now, so if you'll excuse me...

Frezno! He can really move! Frezno! He's got an attitude! Frezno! HE...LIKES WIENERS! *guitar solo*

Oh man, Sonic "The Goddamn" Hedgehog, how the fuck have you been? Not so good these last few years last I heard. Well, good thing there's always the past to reflect upon. The glory days, so to speak. Remember Sonic "The Goddamn" Hedgehog 2? Man, that game was fucking fantastic! FreezingInferno thought so too, so that's why he decided one day to check out Sonic "The Goddamn" Hedgehog 2 on Sega Master System. I mean, hell, Sonic "The Goddamn" Hedgehog rocked some serious shit on Genesis, so why wouldn't it rock some goddamn shit on the Master System too? I bet it does!

And if not, blame Frezno. He was one of the lead coders on the project.

O.P.A.
July 2nd, 2010

Welp, looks like July finally came. All that time I spent living the same two weeks of June over and over and over has finally come to an end. But at what cost? At what cost...

Fat Kakashi and decoy octopus are here to get things started off on the right foot with the twenty-third episode of their tag-team Let's Play of Secret of Mana. Because it's 8:00am, and I've been working 4:00pm-2:00am, I have absolutely nothing that I can say about that right now other than that it's probably as entertaining as it's always been!

Also, Skibo is a baby. Just sayin'.
